wget bug fixed |
The web client wget now works with FreeCache.
Wget changes
// in URLs to
/ after the initial
http://. Thus it was changing
http://freecache.org/http://site/file to
http://freecache.org/http:/site/file.
We detect this client now on the redirector's end and correct the URL.

Re: wget bug fixed |
You know what really sucks? Spending 20 hours on a download with freecache with DSL at 17kb and getting 640 out of 742M and the thing times out in windows xp, and losing it all, now that sucks! If I download the SHN two tracks at a time and it times out I can recover the data by re-clicking on the track to re-download and it picks up where it was when it timed out. Is this something you guys can fix or is there something I need to do? I am able to get downloads sometimes with the freecache as long as the dowload speeds are around 30kb sec so it does not time out. But the program is much better than the previous one that was here using the SUN software, that thing was really buggy.

Re: wget bug fixed |
Do you have enough space on your C drive (or wherever your temp directory is) for the file? IE seems to always download it there and then copy it.
I'm working on partial downloads via Range Requests. Once that is done you don't have to re-donwload the whole file, only the missing part.
